Setting up Your Outlook or Outlook Express Email Client

1. Open Microsoft Outlook / Outlook express

 

2. Go to "Tools" and click on "Accounts"

 

4. A "Internet Accounts" window will pop up. Click on "Add", the click on "Mail".

 

5. This will start up Internet Connection Wizard. Enter your name where it says "Display name:" and click "Next" at the bottom right.

 

6. Enter your Email address in the input box. Then click Next.

 

7. In the Incoming mail (POP3…) field type yourdomain.com In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field type yourdomain.com Click Next.

 

8. Put in your username and password. Your username is your full email address. Example: bob@yourdomain.com

 

9. OK, click Finish and you're done!



Note to Optimum Online Users:

Optimum Online uses "outbound Port 25 SMTP" filtering. Filtering port 25 is a common spam control measure used by Internet Service Providers. Therefore your Outgoing mail (SMTP) should be: mail.optonline.net
